Custom Frame Wall

Custom Frame Wall

Sage Organization Before

My style is constantly evolving. I get one CB2 catalog in the mail and I'm inspired to change my entire living room. Unfortunately, I can't afford to change my interior design all the time like a baller! #iwish

Sage Organization After

Luckily, if you get creative, you can do all kinds of fun things to spruce up your homestead. A custom fabric frame wall is a great way to change things up on a budget. Its so simple! First, you have to decide where you'd like to hang your collection. Measure out the space so you know the square footage you're going to fill. Next, make your way to any secondhand store to pick out your frames. You may have to dig to find the treasures, but I promise, its well worth it.

(Design tip: an odd number of frames will create more visual interest and make a statement piece!)

Once you've picked out your frames, its on to the craft store! Pick out one or two of your favorite colors of spray paint. I suggest picking at least one neutral color (black, white, or cream) so the collection doesn't look over cluttered or complicated. I'm always drawn to gold! I love a touch of simple sophistication. Next, pick out your fabrics. I went with gold, white lace, and turquoise with gold flecks to compliment the frames. Pick what ever colors speak to you and compliment your style.

Finally, its time to pull it all together! Lay your frames out on the floor to figure out their placement on the wall. This way, you can play around with their arrangement before putting a bunch of holes in your wall. Once you decide on an arrangement, its on to paint. Safety note, make sure to spray paint in a well ventilated area. I don't need you passing out on me! Mix and match your frame colors with your different fabric swatches so every piece is unique. Then, up on the wall they go.

Voila! You have a custom frame wall, unique to your style and taste. Have fun with it! I cant wait to see all of your creations.
